On Wednesday December 20th we held a whole school ‘Active Christmas’ event which was organised and run by members of our Active Schools Committee. The day kicked off with our ‘12 Days of Fit-mas’ challenge which was broadcast over the intercom. The committee girls came up with lyrics and actions to the infamous ‘12 Days of Christmas’ tune and the whole school community sang and moved along to the tune. We really worked up a sweat and had lots of fun in the process.
Our Active Walkway was Christmas themed for the event and lots of classes used this throughout Christmas week as they reindeer galloped, and snowman shuffled at each of the stations.
Our Under/Over Relay race was another memorable part of the day. Each class was given a Wrapped Christmas Present for the event and after big lunch we competed in a whole school Under/Over Relay using the presents as opposed to the footballs we usually use for this P.E. game. Ms. Enright’s 4th class were the winners of the event bagging themselves an ‘Active Scavenger Hunt’ game which they can use in the lead up to the holiday period.
