Brian Boru's Wake
The Friends of St Columba's, a newly formed heritage group. St Columba's is a site on the hill overlooking Swords main street. It's an ancient place - it was founded around 560 AD. It has a Georgian church, a 14th century square tower, and a 9th century round tower, amongst other protected structures. Keeping all these listed buildings standing is easier said than done. :)
We are holding a mini-festival on the last weekend of April this year, featuring on the 26th, a traditional music concert called Brian Boru's Wake, and on the 27th, a walking tour of St Columba's. The aim of all this is to promote and preserve the ancient site of St Columba's for future generations.
We have some cracking artists and a great historian involved, and the site itself is very historic and beautiful. I would greatly appreciate your help in letting people know about our festival.
