Here at St. Colmcille’s Girls’ National School, our students and their wellbeing is at the centre of everything that we do! It is very important to us that our pupils play an active, positive role in the life of the school and we believe that our Student Council helps to achieve this.
Representatives must attend meetings regularly and participate in activities. They need to be role models for other pupils. As well as bringing matters to the council for discussion, they are required to report the outcome of meetings to their own class and to other younger classes.
This year, our student council members from last year have extended their term for the school year 2024/2025. Their experience from last year is already reaping rewards for us in St. Colmcille’s GNS.

Mr. Daly’s Class & 6th Class: Anna & Molly
During Term 1 they surveyed the pupils for ideas for improvements in school life. These will continue to be reviewed in Term 2.
During December the student council organised a Jingle Bell Run for all the pupils whereby each class ran laps around the yard to their favourite Christmas song.
They also organised a very successful Christmas Jumper Fundraiser to raise money for a set of Beebots for the school.
